Since the murder of George Floyd, the young leftist social media echo chambers have been awash with posts spouting ideas surrounding “why Christianity and BLM go hand-in-hand”. As any Conservative who has educated themselves on the motives of BLM will know, this is a dumbfounding view to hold. The left cannot see that Black Lives Matter is trying to dismantle every aspect of the Christian faith within our grasps.
Marxism and the Church
The most basic of these strikes comes from the blatant endorsement of Karl Marx, which can be seen in BLM but also in Western popular culture. Now, the popularisation of a figure who was previously almost unanimously villainized in the West has led to him being described as “mildly polarising” at best.Departing from the worrying surge in popularity gained by Marx, it’s his overt distaste for faith that should truly stir up worry in the Conservative and Christian communities. In his Manifesto of the Communist Party he stated, “religion is the opium of the people”, alluding to his ideas of faith as pleasant illusions that give temporary healing. Building on this stance it is also clear that he saw faith as a threat to a socialist revolution as it blocked visions of class divides due to the nature of benevolence preached within the Bible and countless other religious guides. He labelled faith as an “organ of bourgeois reaction” insinuating a man-made faith, not a God-given gift. In the eyes of Marx and Engels the benevolence of faith would lift the mask they place on their readers thus exposing the truth of the capitalist society which they tried with such passion to demonize. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness” – Galatians 5:22 NIV Jesus died to heal divides and people need to know that. Marxism doesn’t heal divides, it widens them. Defines classes to cause bloody revolutions. Black Lives Matter also doesn’t heal divides, it causes them. Ignites a race war which has spread around the world at immense pace. “These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” – Jude 1:19 NIV
Patrisse Cullors and secularism
Anybody who fails to see the links between BLM and Marxism must be exposed to the arrant endorsement of the ideology through Patrisse Cullors, one of 3 BLM co-founders who expressed her and her colleagues’ positions as “trained Marxists”. This gives BLM similar founding ideas to the Chinese Communist Party and Communist Party of the Soviet Union, both of which enforced state atheism through Vladimir Lenin and Mao Zedong. It is overtly clear that BLM want to destroy the Church and it is vital for any Christians or other people of faith reading this not to encourage their own demise. Black Lives Matter are only feeding the plague of secularism.
Society in the eyes of BLM
BLM want to dismantle all societal ties, especially those built by the Church, and whilst the purge of military, monarchy and faith can be clearly seen, another target of this modern domestic gang is to fully dismantle the values of the traditional nuclear family, constructed upon classic Christian values over hundreds of years in western states. Whilst it is proven that the biggest cause of juvenile crime is fatherlessness, BLM wish to spread such a sad situation to every family, with ideas of a mother, father and 2.4 children being flushed by the mob. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25 NIV “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” – Psalm 127:3 NIV The two verses expressed here are all written surrounding family values, including the Lord’s desires for the family. That a husband is to find a wife and that children are the greatest gift. BLM do not identify with any of these statements and consequently any of these verses as they hate the “Western-prescribed nuclear family”. After a short amount of digging on the official BLM website you can find this: “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another”. This unashamed attack on the pre-mentioned Christian values shows up the throng of rioters for who they are, a faithless mess of young people who have been failed by countries who too proudly embrace secularism. Faith is a gift and sadly it’s being lost to too many dominating institutions.
The anti-Semitic mob
The last discriminatory move by BLM to be explored is the unabashed anti-Semitism channelled through a tweet from BLM UK. It stated “As Israel moves towards annexation of the West Bank, and mainstream British politics is gagged of the right to critique Zionism, and Israel’s settler colonial pursuits, we loudly and clearly stand behind our Palestinian comrades. FREE PALESTINE.” Whilst expressing a partially valid opinion on the Palestinian State, it’s the desire to critique Zionism which truly shows the distaste BLM have for the Jewish community. With anti-Semitic hate crime on the rise, the Hamas launching more despicable attacks on children, combined with the Western media turning a blind eye to the normalisation of anti-Semitism in popular culture, this issue is one of superlative importance. Through forming the most basic of links you can observe the certitude in which BLM hold such an abhorrent dismissal for the Jewish faith:BLM clearly hate Zionism; they believe Jews have no right to the land they were gifted post-Holocaust. They don’t see the world’s worst genocide as an excuse to have Jewish people in the land of God. These values thus insinuate their support for Palestinian nationalism, fronted by the militant group named Hamas. One political leader in the Hamas is Fathi Hamad. Hamad was a Palestinian interior minister and was on the Palestinian legislative council. He also cited that “all Jews on the face of the earth should be exterminated”. BLM tweeted support for a group who thinks it’s wholly OK to allow a genocidal politician to serve as a frontrunner. Just in case the link hasn’t been made, Jesus Christ was also a Jew, thus anti-Semitism is also anti-Christianity. “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” – Galatians 6:10 NIV When the majority of youths in the US and UK are supporting an organisation that supports Marx’s debasement of religion, burning of Churches, shooting of police, black militias, dismantling family, abolishing the monarchy, the killing of Bernard Trammell and the murder of Jews it must be highlighted with much more urgency and vigour than it is. Conservatives on both sides of the Atlantic must revert their gazes to see the true horrors behind the mask of Black Lives Matter. Like socialism, BLM cannot prevail. The right need to use their voices and be the silent majority no more.
